You should always clean common areas such as counters, cabinets, and sinks. There are lots of areas that need some extra attention. Here are a few things you might not have thought to add to your Spring Cleaning list.

HVAC Filter

Ducts build up with dust and odours during the winter. Find a filter with a high MERV (minimum efficiency reporting value) to replace your current filter. The high rating means it will trap small particles. Further, clean the air in your home with an air purifier. It will remove allergens such as pollen, dust, and other bacteria.

Fridge

Not only should you clean the outside of your fridge but you should clean the inside as well. Remove interior shelving and wash with warm soapy water. Wipe down surfaces that cannot be removed. This is a great time to sort through any food that might have gone bad as well.

Carpets

A vacuum can only clean your carpet so much. Did you know that high traffic areas should be deep cleaned 3-4 times a year? Carpets can trap airborne pollutants and deep cleaning it improves indoor air quality.
